Messieurs,
You are well amusing. You can always try your chance to sink us. As we say in France: "the hope makes live". By hoping that this hope keeps you long enough alive, so that you can stagnate on a table of torture.
And, since you insist, I invite you to choose another challenge. It was surely too complicated for you.

Ahoy ye scruvy dogs.
Peter Heintz here, 14 if you should be wantin tah know. I be representing Ireland (though I was born and live in New York City) and as ye may be guessing I be a bit extravigant.
I be your first pick ta lead a lightnin' raid, as speed be my best weapon. Still waitin on the acceptance to the fleet, but I must say your Articles be written by a much nobler hand than any Navy pansy.
Enemy of England, lover of speed. Not really lookin to lead, but I will try to lift the spirts of the men in times of poor fortune (an entertainer of sorts).
I've pretty much played games all my life, and some of my favorite games include Zelda, Wolfenstein ET, Final Fantasy, and the like. Love Pirates and Tolkien as well.
Hoping to use the ol' Shire (the ship) to bolster you gentlemens ranks. Argh.

Post by Captain Dame Honor Morgana on Feb 6, 2006 15:30:05 GMT -5
Nom de Plume: Captain Dame Honor Morgana Age: NEVER ask a lady that question, Laddie Ship's Name: Vandervecken Ship Class Desired: From my readings so far, the Ketch, Cutter, Corvette and Xebec all interest me. Me needs hands on experience to make a final decision as to what will work for me. Heavy Frigate? Maybe.... but I'd rather not scare potential prey off at first sight with that many guns. Too easy to outright sink a prize rather than take 'er that way as well. Guess I'm more of a Bull Shark than a Great White. Favorite weapon: Guile and Deceit
Looking forward to a MMORPG experience that isn't in a fantasy setting for a change; or a mindless leveling repetition machine. 1859 Frontier also interests me, but that one seems to be in endless pre-Alpha stage. PotBS is in a intriging setting.... I was a long time player of an old EIDOS-Hothouse game called Cutthroats many years ago...taking that to a MMORPG level sounds like much fun.
Ultimately, the content and gameplay will decide my presence and actions in PotBS. The actual detail of the maps and convoy routes will determine where I'll hunt the most.

Name: Michael N. Nickname: Najit Character Name: Lady Akumaka Age: 22 Ship Name: La Reine Noire Ship Class Desired: I'd love a ship of the line, however I will wait until I get the chance to test the game's dynamics before I decide. As a pirate, a frigate or smaller would probably be more prudent. Favored Weapon: Saber
I work for the US Military, and just recently returned from my second trip overseas. Really not allowed to say much else. I've played a lot of MMORPGs as well as pencil & paper RPGs (D&D etc), and I hope to bring some of that experience to the field here. I used to play EVE Online, but somehow shouting "Yarr!" from a hunk of metal floating in space just didn't feel right. I yearn for the roar of cannons and crack splintering wood, while the waters turn red with blood.
Leadership position? Sure, who wouldn't want one? However once again I would prefer to test the game dynamics before making any such decisions.

Name: Alex P.
Nickname: Alex, old friends call me Kaiser
Character Name: Jake Bloodeye
Age: 19
Ship Name: The Night Terror
Ship Class Desired: I'd go for any boat around the Ketch, Brig, Xebec, Corvette and maybe even to the Lt. and Md. Frigates, depending whether they are fast enough for my type of play. I'll have to wait in game to see which I like most. I will most likely choose the Ketch or the Corvette(Sloop-of-war).
Favorite weapon: Two-handed exotic saber.
Not much to say about me. I love anything from the medieval to the pirates. I beta tested 90% of the betas I ever knew about.. and I've been starting to hate rpgs. PotBS seems very interesting, though.
As for Leadership position, I can always rule above a little squad with an iron fist if I have to. Yharharrr !. However, I prefer not being in charge of too much as it is easier to organize a small effective team with only 1 commander. I plan to be "Hunter" type. Fast enough to take down small vessel and escape the wrath of larger vessels, to some extent, while still being able to inflict/resist a considerable beating.

Ahoy there mateys!
In Real life my name is Christopher Connor and I'm a 23 year old college student with about a month until graduation. I'm majoring in history (my focus has mainly been on medieval history but pirates are my second love). I currently reside in Forest Grove, Oregon which is on the very edge of the Portland Metro area; though I'll be moving to Michigan in a month or two.
I've been a gamer since I was eight years old and learned to read with my dad's old D&D books (I'm still a fan of the old school D&D, its kind of nostalgic for me). Since then I've played all manner of RPGs, too many to list in a concise manner. I haven't played many MMOs because none of them have held my interest for very long, primarily due to the lack of interaction and the l33t crowd that tends to congregate to them. PotBS however looks really fascinating and seems to be attracting a lot of mature intelligent people.
I've been looking around at various guilds and The Black Fleet seemed to be the best match for what I am looking for: a reasonably small, RPG oriented pirate guild. Everyone here seems to be really friendly and really into RP (I love the character background question). So with that I hope I will be granted the privilege of joining your infamous ranks.

Hello!
My name is Henrik and I'm from Sweden. I have a bunch of gaming experience, lately Wow where I lead a frustrating existence among the immature co-players and game form where time and not skill is rewarded and the economical and political model is extremely undevelopped.
I'm hoping PotBs will change all of this...

Welcome everyone to the Black Fleet.
Sorry about the delay. Both Captain and Whorley and myself have been rather busy as of late with that nasty "reality" that goes around from time to time. As for me, I've been trying to find a job and move my family from Los Angeles to Austin. Its been a fun time so far.
If you have applied for membership in the past few months and havent heard from either one of us, send me a priave message and I will remedy this right away.
Looking forward to seeing you all on the Burning Seas.
