One of the FAQs posted in the Community website:
What will happen if its two ships vs. one and the two ships win who then gets the ship?
The first one to board the loser. But in groups, prize money is divvied up among the participants. If you are in the pirate career that allows you to steal ships and use them yourself, then it’s every man for himself and the first one to board the loser wins. That’s pirate life for you!
-This means that if working as a team like the original plan, the smaller, faster ships will get there first. This is something that will have to be agreed upon prior to a wolf pack entering combat.

Agreed, a little (or a lot) of time spent before the party leaves port will save have a lot of headaches.

It doesnt have to be a long, drawn out meeting, but some quick discussion to avoid someone getting ticked off sounds like a good idea.
Conversly, we could just have it that whoever claims the ship as theirs first through the chat system gets it. If someone seriously needs a new ship, they can ask for it and the rest of the attacking party should be OK with that (it would promote further teamwork, too)
This would be similar to a pirate code of condust I read from 1723 that states "He that sees a sail first, shall have the best pistol or small arm aboard her."

Agreed and if we select good quality people to join the ranks, things like fights over ships and loot wont come up very often if at all.
Im of the mindset need before greed, always have been. Sure that longsword +2 is worth 20 silver, but Gegan has a rusty short sword and could use it. Since it will be a 1 charcter per server deal we dont have to worry about ppl farming for alts and the like.
As you have seen I simplified the charter and Im not done with it just yet. After its complete I want you to go over it and take it apart to find any flaws. Im also have a rules of engagement thing on the site which will cover grouping mostly. AFK's, Meeting, Loot rights, hostle ships, things of that nature.
