The bigger the ship, the slower it will go. However, this may also mean that its more defensive against attacks. Conversly, the lighter boat may have much greater speed, but how well it handles a broadside may be something to consider.
As for the cannon, the smaller the round, the more range, but with less destructive power. (lighter ball is needed for longer distance)
So one of the first things we need to look into is to find out which combination of speed versus power do we want. Which cannon is going to give the most bang for the buck? Which ship is going to be the best combination of speed versus strength?
Each member of the Black Fleet should experiment with this when they get into the game and report their findings in this forum.

Agreed, I keep losing connection to my isp, they are doing maintance so I will comment more of everything I need to comment on later.
